University of Copenhagen. Polycotton recycling: Closing the loop in the textile industry

This project aims at gaining funding for product testing to help the market maturation of a new technology that tackles current environmental problems. The relevant technology provides a groundbreaking solution to chemically recycle Polycotton textile waste into its raw components: cotton fibers and the polyester precursor (known as BHET). Polycotton is the blend of cotton and polyester (PET) fibers and is the world’s most produced textile.
